I wrote this on my xanga, but I don't think any of you read it so I'll post it here too.

Okay, here goes.

I know the Mgs Softballers can excel this year. God put us through so many tests - physically, mentally and even friendship-wise; and we pulled through all the same. Sure, feelings of hurt/anger may not be easily forgotten; but at least we left it behind and set our sights ahead instead of always turning back, tripping and falling. I thank God for bringing us this far.

Now the issue isn't whether we CAN excel, it's whether we WILL.

And I know we will succeed, with God's help.

Love you guys so, so much. Let's go, there's no turning back. It's our last year: Let's make it our best.

Hey guys I have been some thinking on why this year we did not do as well as we did last year. For one we are strong when like this years batch of sec3s are put together. However that should not be the excuse. What I think happened is this:
If anybody realized, in sec1 and beginning of sec2 ms chua really did build us up. Whether we like it or not it is a fact that if it weren’t for her our attitudes and character wouldn’t have changed for the better. She subconsciously did train and build our mental up. Compared to sec1 if given an “impossible” task in sec1 we would have whined and cried abt every single thing, but in sec2 we went all out to do it even though success would be slim.
This year everyone has been telling us that mgs has weak mental that’s why we constantly fail. But I believe that we can strike a miracle just like what we did last year. Ppl thought we could not get far in nationals last year but we did. This year ppl might have looked down on us cause we did not achieve much. We shouldn’t give excuses anymore. Ms chua says we die cause of our mental but I think we “died” cause we did not persevere as hard as well we did last year. Lets not use mental as an excuse. But instead let us build ourselves up just like in sec1. we overcame our attitudes in secone and in sec2 our character and resilience really built up. Lets not let it slip away okay? Reflect on the past 2 years. Seriously reflect. For me softball, training and coach really made a difference in my life esp transition from sec1 to 2. I believe it did so for u guys too.
I don’t wanna “preach” anymore but bottomline this is well wad I kinda thought after much thinking :D
Forget about how we performed this year. We did have mistakes and we did see that our attitude is alittle bit not there yet. No ones asking us to be perfect. Ms Chua just doesn’t want out talent to go to waste. So this year we will stick together okay? Don’t let any small differences cause this team to fall apart. In this team WE NEED EVERYONE. We need out pitcher we need our centerfielder our 3rd base etc. not only for softball, lets be there for each other in school time too:D I can see we are still very united and I am really happy about that. but right now when we go for training, we go in with a challenge in our mind. And at the same time have fun. Really really have fun. I don’t know what you guys are thinking abt as regards to our performance in softball. But I think maybe we ought to really have an ultimate team goal. Last year was to do well in nationals. I think this year till the next we ought to wok towards proving everyone wrong. that mgs is not about weak mental but aggressive batting.
Lets take confidence, aggressiveness, focus, and fun as our 4 principles for softball. We stick by these so called principles. Help each other, train hard, do well, have fun. Though coaches are there to constantly scold us if we do sth wrong, don’t let that affect fun k? everybody makes mistakes. We will make mistakes but the worst decision is to step back and brush it aside. The best decision is to ignore the fear step up to the plate and do what you do best: have fun in softball. After every game we don’t say: did we win? Did we lose? Say: did we have fun? And if anybody isn’t having fun, letting mistakes affect her, tell her, encourage her etc. remember someones comment in OBS “stronger than we think. Thougher than we know. Braver than we believe.”? We are all way better than we think we are. Lemme add one more sentence to that quote: “better than you think”. Lets show everyone we are way better than what they think we are. That’s my goal. What abt urs?

Hey guys. to be frank, i don't think you guys are really trying hard enough to be a good christian. aren't you guys afraid of going to hell and things like that? yes, it is just believing, but how do you know? you can go around telling everyone you're a christian, and when judgement day is here, Jesus would just say, "I don't know you". Please guy, pray for yourselves and each other. Jesus is coming down very soon. Look at this world. it's horrible. what porn, gayness, and all the disasters - tsunamis, bird flu, sars. Jesus will come very very soon. These are the signs.

Yes, you've heard of Jesus and all the stories. but do you truly believe? You can be emotional and stuff, but it'll only last you a few days. on that day, you could actually say, "yes, i want to devote my life to Jesus who came down to die for my sins", then a few days later, you would just resume your normal worldy things. Make a habit guys, to read the bible and stop sinning. and PRAY!

i'm really sure you guys know the 10 commandments righttt? only non-christians wouldn't know. and it's really like basically all the sins you can commit. like envying people can lead to gossips and stuff. and lying, well, twisting stuff can even be lying. white lies, are still lies. annddd, there's this bug that's really annoying in ALL girl schools - gossips. What you say can really reflect who you are on the inside. And don't you guys just HATE it when someone spreads rumors about you? well then don't spread rumors yourself. Matthew 7:12 "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do uye even so to them; for this is the law and the prophets."

And don't hate people. if you're angry with them, don't hate them. don't you just feel like killling that certain someone when you really hate that person? once you already have thoughts of killing that person, you're already committing murder. Try to forgive people, even though it's really hard. If Jesus could do it, why can't you? He got tempted too, he was a human too, like us. But he didn't get tempted, for 40days, satan tried to. Matthew 6:14 "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:" 15 "But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses".

1st step. Seek God first. remember the message shared today during chapel? don't let the excitement of your youth let you forget God, or something like that. it's similar to the verse Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you". you know that song? sing it with meaning. :)

Start fearing God first! Psalms 110:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good undersatnding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."

Pray really hard guys! :) i'll pray for you guys too. this team is going to make history for the best christian team ever.

A TEENAGER'S VIEW OF HEAVEN
17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like. 'I wowed 'em,' he later told his father, Bruce. 'It's a killer. It's the bomb. It's the best thing I ever wrote..' It also was the last.

Brian Moore died May 27, 1997, the day after Memorial Day. He was driving home from a friend's house when his car went off Bulen-Pierce Road in Pickaway County and struck a utility pole. He emerged from the wreck unharmed but stepped on a downed power line and was electrocuted.

The Moores framed a copy of Brian's essay and hung it among the family portraits in the living room. 'I think God used him to make a point. I think we were meant to find it and make something out of it,' Mrs. Moore said of the essay. She and her husband want to share their son's vision of life after death. 'I'm happy for Brian. I know he's in heaven. I know I'll see him.'

Brian's Essay: The Room...
In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read 'Girls I have liked.' I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.

This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

A file named 'Friends' was next to one marked 'Friends I have betrayed.' The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird 'Books I Have Read,' 'Lies I Have Told,' 'Comfort I have Given,' 'Jokes I Have Laughed at .' Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: 'Things I've yelled at my brothers.' Others I couldn't laugh at: 'Things I Have Done in My Anger', 'Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents.' I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.

Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.

When I pulled out the file marked 'TV Shows I have watched', I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.

When I came to a file marked 'Lustful Thoughts,' I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.

I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!' In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.

Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.

And then I saw it.. The title bore 'People I Have Shared the Gospel With.' The handle was brighter than those around it,seemed newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.

And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.

No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own.

He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with me.

Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. 'No!' I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was 'No, no,' as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.

He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, 'It is finished.' I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.

'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'-Phil. 4:13 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.' If you feel the same way forward it so the love of Jesus will touch their lives also My 'People I shared the gospel with' file just got bigger, how about yours?

hey guys have you ever wondered why we can never really show our full potential?
is it for some special reason?
like someone wants this to happen to us so we could learn something?
something that'll change your life forever?

you guys say you're christians right?
what if that person is God?
- there IS a reason for everything. think about it.

you guys know we have better skills than other schools, and we CAN trash them -- but what is preventing us from doing so? our mental. how do we improve our mental? we don't really know. but we can pray. as long as we ask, believe and have faith in God, what we pray for that is necessary will come true.
matthew 7:7 "ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"

but pray with meaning. don't pray cause God is like some kind of santa claus or something. guys, God loves you guys very much. please don't let him down. he sent his own son down, to die for us. even for his enemies. can you imagine sending your future daughter/son down to earth (or yourself if you can't imagine having children) to die for your smelly enemies like maybe oh i don't know perhaps britney spears or something. and she spits are your child, many britneys spitting at your child, and cursing him/her/it. blehs. and then your child says, "forgive them for they know not what they do". how would you feel. the power of love must have been soo great God was willing to do so. yeah his love is greater than the universe! isn't it cool?

you guys should pray about your faith and all. it's not uncool to do so. read your bible more often. it's how God talks to you. all your answers are in there. to me, job and matthew and my favourite books. it can really help you. trust me :D

& i really feel you guys should stop using his name in vain, to set a good example for christians and do it because you're not supposed to. it is the 3rd commandment if i'm not wrong. you guys should say ohmygosh instead of ohmygod.
& you guys should stop gossiping.

start now. cause Jesus can come down anytime. 5mins from now, tomrrow, or whenever. and if he comes tomorrow, all the things of the world wil just fade off. softball would be nothing.

OKAY, basically, we've got the design done! And Jess is supposed to be doing it properly on the computer? So that we can submit it NICELY to the person who is gonna be printing out our shirt.

And as for the PERSON who is gonna print our shirt, ISABEL is supposed to ask her dad to find a cheap one for us? [Cheap, but good one :D]

Well, SRCS HAVE STARTED!

Everyone played well on Sunday, the game against AES, we won 21 - 0! :D

We could've done better on Saturday though, but nevermind, it's already over.

Hey guys I know like the past few weeks we have been going for softball trainings and matches and have like lots of work, tests and projects and many of u guys are tired and stressed but just hang in there okay? We can do it! Causeeee we are MGS SOFTBALLERS;)
Even though we did not have an exactly great season for nationals and west zones when we go for SRC we HAVE to go all out, have fun and really take our revenge this time.. we have to take this opportunity esp during 15 march to make ms chua proud!! YEAH YEAH I agree with shi!! Sing her a happy bdae song at SRC!!! And guys even though westzones and nationals are over, I just really wanna say that u guys really rock my world!! I love you guys sooo much!! Thanks for all the fun and great memories u guys have given me Esp. when we go out together, play a match together, go for recess together, train together! I am soo looking forward to the rest of 2008 and 2009 with u guys!! :D
Btw for the shark movie on thurs can u guys make it? Like before the movie we could go to orchard early and shop play around till 430 then we go for the movie then after that we could go for dinner and walk aroud some more since the day after that is cross country!!! :D everyone pleaseee try to gooo!!! I think we should get a Sec 3 softball shirt!
*Agrees with Megan.

+ It should be a NICE, UNIQUE, BRIGHT colour.
(Don't choose white-based, it's not eye catching)

I think, we should go for:
Lime green/Bright orange/Hot pink
(Hot pink is the last choice, I repeat, LAST choice)

Anyway, my point is, our shirt should be

& One more thing,
I think we should only wear it for outside purposes.

But it will make the shirt a little bit useless.

Okaay, yay finally someone posted! Two someones at that :D

Hahaha, well now my sorethroat is getting worse :/ I feel like some retarded handicapped who can't smell, hear or talk.

AARGHHH.

I can't even SPEAK now, so I guess this is my way of talking for the next few days.

I think I it became worse cos of yesterday's training where we had to "coach" the sec 1s.

Gosh, no matter how many times we repeating and telling them what they're doing wrong, they still do the wrong thing! :/

Ahh, I guess that's what we do too. Hahaha.

Well, Nationals are over. But there's still next year! We gotta work harder okay!

Oh, BTW, there IS training after cross next Friday. So we could go get lunch together? Then make our way down for training.

HMM. SRC's are coming, nationals and west zones are over -- how do you guys think we've done? did we do better or worse compared to last year? what caused it?

here are the scores for nationals:

vs nanhua - lost 8-5

vs peicai - won 17-3

vs tkgs - lost 8-0

vs newtown - won 11-8

we could have done it! if it wasn't for our mental. guyss we have to improve more on our mental! #1 most important thing is to pray. you know it realy works. sometimes when i run and sing praises to God and all in my head, i don't feel tired. but when i sing worldly songs in my head while running, i feel just as tired as when i just think about completing warm up - which is really tiring.

okay now that it's over, don't think about it. what's in the past, stays in the past. no point regretting or whatsoever as we can't do anything about it. so we shall look forward to the future and to SRC's. we're going to show them this timee. mgsofties isn't a team that is rising up, mgsofties is a team that wins championships!

15th march is miss chua's birthday!

Whoohoo, we're going to exceed/already exceeded our maximum posts (Since our last blog). Isn't that quite an achievement?

I'm so glad it's the weekends. This whole cycle of school + softball + falling sick is wearing me out. And I'm sure it's wearing you guys out too.

haha match next mon! we have to meet by 1215 and get all teh equipments and stuff out by 1245. hmm be there in your full attire! make sure you have your lunch before 11. so that you can digest your food. sleep early the day before (mmm angie), and wake up by 9 to have breakfast at 9 and lunch at 11. or just wake up by 10 and have breakfast/lunch. too bad match has to be on mon cause there's no schoooool :/ well atleast we'll have more time to sleep.

Alright, so we have to like, press on and work hard during training. Then we'll come prepared and excel! We must do mental prep too, and I'm sure we're quite prepared already (In terms of the physical/skill aspect).

All that's lacking, is the mental preperations and our reactions on the field.

We have to stand up under pressure, get past that "Oh, I'm so nervous" stage, and do well! I'm not asking for the impossible, like not getting nervous at all (Well, it's just human that we are stressed), but I'm asking that we could just perhaps just confess/admit that you're nervous once, then forget about it. Hold your head high, and feel hyped to do well. Reduce errors, and try to do your best.

And just know, that even if you make mistakes, it's alright. Even though I might be a little tight and a little arghhhhh about it, but assure yourself, that I'm not gonna hate you for life, and neither will the team.* So just do your best, no one will fault you for trying. But if you don't try, that's another story, right?

Mm, so I guess that's all.

So, prepare yourself, and let's win! :D

Oh, and another thing: If anyone's feeling down and everything on that day, avoid affecting each other's mood okay? Unless you know the other person will be strong and pull you up instead of bringing herself down with you. Get what I mean?

Let's help each other, and pull each other up instead of affecting each other and bringing every one else down.

I'm going to try my best to pull the team up too, alright?

So please aid me in my effort!

Thanks for being around guys, thanks for always being so tolerant of my temper, my bossy-ness and everything that annoys you (Yes, that includes my insanity). I'm sorry that I'm not the most patient of all people, and I am not perfect.

I disappoint you guys most of the time, by pitching lousily, batting lousily, overthrowing and making stupid mistakes. I did not do a good job in the TK match (I'm sorry it still sticks in my head), and I find it difficult to forgive myself for making careless mistakes that cost our win.

I hate that I get affected so easily by things around me, I continue having annoying 3rd inning habits. Yet, I don't seem to improve.

But what I know is, I will do my best, and correct whatever is needed. I'll try to push myself, and push the team. I'll try not to snap at anyone yet be able to drive the team.

I'm going to remove my 3rd inning habit.

I'm going to do all this, not by my strength only, but also with the help of God and teammates. I'm going to do my best! :D

Sorry if all this has sounded emo and boring to be added to the blog, (And it might have made the blog look more dreary and wordy), but really I need to tell you I'm trying my best and I hope that you guys do help me along.

HEY SOO i've already booked the function room from 6-11 next monday. we can swim at like 4, and after training go eat first, at kap or anywhere, then come to my house. are you guys allowed to stay for so long? oh and um do you guys want KFC, MACs, or pizza? that's for dinner

i think we're going to watch 3 movies. if there's enough time. 5hours. okay maybe 2 movies. i think you guys will have to swim with swimsuits :/ causeee i dunno. i'll tell you guys by friday.

hey! have you guys done the softball journal? hmmm just to remind you guys what we did last week.

monday - wasn't there

wednesday - it rained in the morning on wed, so we ran 4 rounds around school, then after that did med ball in the sports complex, did throwing indoors, kneel down just flicking wrist and yeah. then after that went out and did real throwing. did battings, tennis ball everything tyre everything. for physical we did

friday - running under 8mins. sprinting, 15. 50 throws thingie in pairs, no tyre, did batting, fast toss and tennis balls. then fielding.

monday - did the agility thingie, with the spoilt ladder. did some batting, no tyre. no physical.

i'll try to make this as long as possible. okay i shall talk about training today first. training today was fine? OH! there's something i must tell you guys! NEVER BE LATE FOR TRAINING! it's not good. to not be late, you must:

1)sleep early
2)pack your stuff before bed
3)set an alarm clock
4)wake up when you hear the alarm clock and go do your stuff. don't snooze it and then go back to bed

haha i know it's always meee who's late. but just giving some tips? haha okay trianing today wass really wet. and the side vman thingie or whatever it's called is reallyyy hard. haha ms chua said she's gonna make us do harder stuff next time. first it was the knee-toe touch. then now it's the weird abs thingie. i wonder what's next?

soo our softball outing is next week? after training on friday? haha and we're going to watch a movie together? sooo what are we going to watch?

I remember asking you to complete it eons ago. During the March holidays, if I'm not wrong. That's a really long time, you know.

I love you guys sooo much!!! I cant believe we entered 2nd round!! GOOD JOB GUYS we like passed round one hope u guys are resting enough and preparing urselves fer next week. Just work hard for this softball season okay.. you have seen how we beat all those schools we can like do better and not depend on our luck yeah? Sooo maybe it will help if u guys find out wads from during round one and this week try to like improve on them before round 2 so you wont bring those bad habits along. Research on your positions if u wan.
Remember we HAVE to train very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very hard next week…. The next round is gonna be more tough so we have to be aggressive and more confident especially our batting. Our fielding can brush up a bit…

hey! mid-years are coming up! and it's on megans birthday. our west zones are coming up too and training will be 3x a week from 30th april onwards until nationals are over. west zones are on 5th, 11th, 15th and 17th. and jess wont be with us on the 15th and 17th because she has sabbaticals.

heyy softies!!!!! i finally got in with megans help... at the library now waiting fer the interview thing i am so freaked!!!! haha aniwae yesterdays training was so fun and slack...haha sorry i am saying this but, the zones are in like one months time, so we have all got to work hard starting this friday okay?? yesterday was like slack cuz we were all tired from stupid swim meet but aniwae starting from friday EVERYBODY MUST WORK HARDER!!!!! we wanna be like bdiv rite???
haha you noe i realised that training is more slack and quiet without bdiv haha gonna miss them when they leave... aniwae after their o's we may have a like a farewell party thing fer them kk?? and everyone must participate....omg you noe the swim meet is like so boring la.. end late somemore!!! arghhh i dun wanna go fer anymore swim meets !!! like is it compulsory to go?? haha aniwae sorry fer h0lding everyone up yesterday at the bus stop....sorry!!

omg today i went to ri and their softball field is SUPER NICE.and huge.its like the size of a football field? really huge. and their grass is like fake grass thing so its nice and soft with no bugs whatsoever and their bases are like, you know the line that draws the diamond in softball? yeah theirs is like SAND. it looks like those baseball fields that you see on tv. its SUPER NICEEEEE. haha i saw beckys sammy too. they were having training and they have that pitching machine thingo?

our school is POOR man. we need money $$$$
